Passed away peacefully at Stirling Heights Long term Care, Cambridge on Wednesday, May 26th, 2021 at 74 years of age. Dear daughter of the late Alfred and Eileen Mount. Beloved wife of Peter Ferguson; loving mother of Leigh (Rob) Ferguson and Neil (Susanna) Ferguson. Cherished grandmother of Gavin Ferguson, Keegan Ferguson and Abigail Cochrane. Dear sister of Patricia (Steve) Gorse.
Eileen was born in Liverpool, England and started her travels at aged 19 when she emigrated to South Africa with her husband only days after they married. She would move again, returning to Liverpool, and once more emigrating to Canada in 1973. Eileen found a new hometown in Hespeler.
Eileen was a longtime, dedicated employee of Nicholls-Radtke Ltd. (Aecon Industrial). She served more than 30 years in progressive accounting roles before retiring in 2005. She was known for her intelligence, reliability and her dedication.
Eileen became the Granny of three wonderful grandchildren which she spoiled diligently and appropriately during her retirement. She enjoyed traveling to Cuba with her husband and grandchildren and spending time in her garden.
Eileen suffered from Alzheimer’s, with the disease eventually moving her into Stirling Heights LTC. She touched the hearts of her nurses and PSWs and likewise, they touched our hearts with how lovingly they cared for her.
Eileen will be dearly missed by her loving husband of 54 years, her children and grandchildren and all the dear friends made along the way.
“We are such stuff as dreams are made on; and our little life is rounded with a sleep.” Shakespeare (The Tempest)
