On July 7th, 2020, surrounded by his family, Lawson peacefully left his earthly life. Lawson was raised on his parents’ farm in Mount Forest, with his three siblings and moved to Cambridge with his wife in his early adult life. He built his own home and lived at 65 Branchton Road for many years. He worked as a foreman at Canadian Brass and Waltec until his retirement. He enjoyed many activities playing golf, curling, card clubs, gardening, woodworking and he volunteered, driving for the Canadian Cancer Society. He also belonged to the Mason Lodge. He was a devoted husband and loving father. The legacy of Lawson is the loving times shared together as a family and the gift of love he gave over a span of 95 years. He is now in God’s care and he is free from pain and strife and rests in eternal peace.
He will be deeply missed by his daughter Donna, of Fonthill, son Wayne (Penny) of Ottawa, granddaughter Kristen of Ottawa and his sister Stella Voigt (Ken) of Delhi and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his wife of 60 years Glenna(Noble)(2009), his brother Findlay(2009) wife Geraldine (2001), his sister Velma (2018), her husband Percy(2006), nephew Gordon (1957) and his parents Charles and Jenny Lewis and most recently his friend Harold Bell(2020)

Dear Donna and Wayne and family,

We were sorry to hear that your Dad, my Uncle Lawson had passed away at the age of 95. I remember that he was always a bit of a tease and liked to play a good joke on people. He was the last to die of the double wedding ceremony to Aunt Glenna on June 8, 1946, Lawson and Glenna, Meryl and Orville. We had numerous enjoyable family gatherings and celebrations over the years. I spent summer holidays vacationing for two weeks at Aunt Glenna and Uncle Lawson's and at Aunt Vi and Uncle Roly's who were just 3-4 houses away at that time. Oh what a great time I had, it was the highlight of my summers. In 1973 when I was 16 years old, Uncle Lawson, Aunt Glenna, Donna, and Grampa and Gramma Noble invited me to travel with them by car out west to visit my sister Wanda who was living in North Vancouver working at Lion's Gate Hospital. It was a very enjoyable trip and I remember each days goal was to drive as far as possible. We saw many famous sights.
Paul remembers his conversations about cars and how Uncle Lawson appreciated a nice clean one. He will be missed!
Our sincerest condolences to your family and very sorry that due to the current situation with the coronavirus pandemic and our location in Toronto we are unable to attend the funeral.

Sharon, Paul, John and Ashlee (Pryde)

I was sorry to hear about the passing of Mr. Lewis. Mr & Mrs Lewis built their home in the same subdivision as I grew up in and when Marc and I got married we purchased the home right next to them. What better neighbours could we have asked for?. We had many chats and shared many memories throughout their years living on Branchton Road and was very sad the day Mr. Lewis moved. They were both so good to us and I will cherish the memories of them forever. Our sympathy to the family in this sad loss. Linda and Marc Thiel (Albright)
