It is with great sadness that we announce Ed’s sudden passing from a severe heart attack on Sunday July 28, 2019 at the age of 53 years, just days before his birthday on August 1, 2019.
Ed, is the much loved father of Brittany Leigh Ploughman and grandpa to Savanna Leigh Ploughman, who will miss him dearly. He will be also be deeply missed by his mother Anna Ploughman, father Edison Ploughman, sister Susy, and brothers Gary and David.
Ed was a friend to many and devoted father to Brittany of 22 years and grandpa to Savanna, 1 year old, whom he cherished, born on April 14, 2018 and father to Kristyna Shea, 30 years, living in Vancouver.
He lived a full life in his youth, playing many sports at Cedarbrae Collegiate High School in Toronto; Football, Hockey and Rugby to name a few, he travelled frequently with his close friends, cousins and siblings. He married, Andrea Evans and they had Brittany on June 26, 1997, in Toronto. Later in life, he established a 10 year relationship with Lili Mo, during this time, they owned and operated a Sunset Grill Restaurant in Guelph, ON.
The past few years, Ed lived alone, struggling with depression and all that it brings. His mother, Anna loved him dearly and held steadfast with the hope that he would overcome his symptoms. Recently, he found his way back to church and died suddenly of a heart attack at mass on Sunday July 28, 2019, he was taken to the Southlake Hospital, Newmarket, ON where he died later that evening with family at his side of cardiac arrest.
He will be deeply missed by all.
The Memorial Service will be held at Lounsbury Funeral Home, 1766 Franklin Blvd, Cambridge, ON N3C 1N8 on Thursday August 1, 2019 at 2pm. Family and Friends may gather at 1:00pm for viewing prior to the service being held in the Funeral Home’s Chapel. He will lay to rest in the New Hope Cemetery in Cambridge, ON.
