Cherished brother to Alex Berry (Michael), Peter Berry (Michelle) and Lorna McLellan (Gerry).
Generous uncle to Brandon Paiva, Stephen Berry, Linda Berry and Brielle McLellan, giving of his time at sports games, movies, pool halls, driving, and his advice, knowledge and wisdom.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to his close friend and cousin Jim, and friends Colin and Joe for keeping it real over the past several years despite all his diagnoses, treatments, surgeries and complications. Thank you also to his friends that rallied around this past month with visits and sharing stories.
Thank you to the countless nurses, doctors, clerks, technicians, support staff, pharmacy teams and other health care workers that partnered with Kris in this journey. An extra special thank you to Dr. Wang and her team for providing endless support and exceptional care.
Thank you as well to Freeport’s Palliative Unit and the amazing team than ensured his final days were filled with quality and comfort.
Over his life Kris held many jobs and worked at many places, most recently for Grand River Transit as a Bus Operator.
At Kris’ request cremation has taken place.
For those who knew Kris, he would ask you to go out for a great burger and cold beer, play a round of golf and/or take in a great movie to remember him and celebrate his life.
As expression of sympathy donations can be made to the Hospital for Sick Children, because after Kris kicked cancer’s butt five times he was insistent that no three year old should ever experience cancer.
