It is with great sadness that the family of Steven Hansford announces his passing at Sunnyside Home on May 17, 2019 at the age of 53 years. Steven was born in Galt, Ontario and Graduated from Glenview Secondary Park School. He enjoyed his years of employment at ARC Industries, Babcock & Wilcox Cafeteria and St-Vincent De Paul.
Anyone that knew Steven knew he was an avid Toronto Maple Leaf and Blue Jays fan and played Baseball for many years himself. He also loved listening to his country music!
Steven will be lovingly remembered by his parents Shirley and Avery Best, the bestest sisters Charlie Diniz (Luis) and Lori, his step family Janet Haskins (Jeff), Steven Best (Leslie), Kenny Best (Nancy) as well as many nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.
Steven’s family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the staff and residents of Sunnyside Home for their awesome care often putting up with his feistiness but most of the time his sweet, friendly personality and who managed to bring out Stevie’s million dollar smiles that will be treasured forever in our hearts.
Those we love can never be more than a thought apart, for as long as there is memory they’ll live on in the heart.
A celebration of his life will be held at Lounsbury Funeral Home, 1766 Franklin Blvd., Cambridge on Thursday, May 23rd from 6-9 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Sunnyside Foundation www.sunnysidefoundation.ca or to The Special Olympics Ontario www1.specialolympicsontario.com
